Balenciaga Eyewear Exclusive Launch at Dover Street Market
January 2, 2019 marks the worldwide launch of Balenciaga’s first collection developed with Kering Eyewear. From January 2–9, the Balenciaga Eyewear collection launches exclusively at Dover Street Markets.
The new collection will be available via doverstreetmarket.com as well as unique pop-up launches at the Dover Street Market stores in Tokyo, Los Angeles, New York City, London, Singapore, and Beijing.
Each of the six individual pop-ups will feature site-specific installations of custom-built glowing podiums and freestanding, mirrored walls designed using the elements of Balenciaga’s newly redesigned stores and the themes of its recent runway shows.
The temporary displays are demarcated with Balenciaga’s signature logo carpet and other recognizable graphic elements. Structures echo the aluminium finish and grey scale palette found in Balenciaga’s faux-unfinished flagships.
The eyewear, on display for the first time, is suspended on custom stands that accommodate a spectrum of sizes and shapes, from delicate to bold. Light boxes show the new Balenciaga Eyewear campaign, a series of portraits that reflects the brand’s strong sense of optimism for the future.
Available for the first time to purchase, the new Balenciaga Eyewear styles range from the everyday to the extreme, each example elegantly representing Balenciaga’s dynamic signatures.
